Job Ad & Profile Description

Position : Human Resources Specialist

We are recruiting a Human Resources Specialist.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provide on-site HR support for international and host country employees
  • The Human Resources Specialist will perform duties in close coordination with both his/her supervisor and SOSi’s corporate HR Department in Reston, VA
  • The qualified candidate will have prior knowledge of, or demonstrated aptitude to learn, local labor laws and corporate HR requirements
  • Works with management and home office HR organization to:
  • o develop position descriptions
  • o administer benefit plans
  • o manage annual performance evaluation process
  • o conduct and monitor compliance training
  • o oversee collection, maintenance and reporting of HR data
  • Coordinates with management and corporate Recruiting Department in Reston, VA to execute hiring strategies and ensure compliance with HR policies
  • Works with South Sudan Labor Office to source host country national personnel
  • Manages employee onboarding and terminations; conducts orientation sessions and exit interviews
  • Handles employee relations issues; conducts investigations and provides recommendations for corrective action
  • Maintain all employee data and metrics associated with employee population
  • Maintains knowledge of corporate HR policies and South Sudanese labor laws and governmental regulations
  • Oversees event planning as needed
  • Performs other duties assigned by management
Required profile for job ad : Human Resources Specialist
  • College degree in preferably in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum of five (5) years of HR experience with three (3) years supporting an organization with over 50 employees
  • Experience with international HR
  • Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – fluent in written and spoken English
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and employee information
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite

Work Environment

  • Living and working conditions are in established facilities in an urban environment
  • May include long hours, exposure to weather and potentially hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of potential requirement to move on short notice and under adverse conditions
