Position : Compliance OfficerBackground:
The Compliance Officer will effectively conduct the tasks and requirements of International Medical Corps field-based compliance department in the country of operation.
Field Compliance is independent of all country program management and the Compliance Officer is expected to maintain a professional and ethical demeanor beyond reproach and to always protect confidentiality.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct and sample review of transactions and areas of operation as per approved yearly work-plan based on its frequency and sample size. This includes sample review of procurement transactions, payroll, recruitments, onboarding, separations, performance appraisals, local handbook manuals and other areas, to ensure their compliance with organizational policies and procedures, local laws and donor regulations as applicable.
- Cascade International Medical Corps Code of Conduct to various key stakeholders through trainings and/or other means. In collaboration with other departments facilitate training on major donor compliance rules and regulation as necessary.
- Act as an advisory function to country management and assist in spreading awareness and enhancing knowledge on policies and procedures.
- Assist management to effectively identify, document and mitigate compliance risks associated with program and operations activities.
- Develop an Issue Log for management agreed upon action plan that includes compliance recommendations to track their timely implementation.
- Exemplify the role model behavior when it comes to ethics and organizational values.
- In collaboration with the country program management team, assist in conducting periodic reviews of applicable local laws (i.e. labor law, taxes, registration, etc.) to ensure compliance.
- Communicate periodically with management in order to verify progress made with regards to the compliance recommendations.
- Assist in investigations upon request and approval of the Regional Compliance Coordinator and the Head of Field Compliance Unit.
- Any other task as required by the Regional Compliance Coordinator and the Head of Field Compliance Unit.
- Update the existing trackers in the e-binder.
- Participate in the virtual regional compliance meetings.
Required profile for job ad : Compliance Officer - Education: University degree, preferably in Business Administration and/or Audit.
- 2-3 years of experience, preferably in a similar position.
- Strong time management and follow up skills.
- Audit, Risk and/or Compliance experience is a plus.
- Good know-how with Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Familiarity with the different types of instruments (Grants, Contracts, sub-awards, etc.)
- Familiarity various business controls (HR, Finance, Procurement, Logs, I.T, Program)
- Familiarity with various donor rules and regulations is a plus.
- Language Skills: Local language and English with solid communication and writing skills.
